IT CYCLES AND RECYCLES !
Together, we are making the Vélo Vert Festival a committed event, through an inclusive program, concrete partnerships and strong environmental actions.
HANDISPORT
With the support of the Comité Départemental Handisport de Haute-Savoie, the Vélo Vert Festival puts the practice of handisport in the spotlight.
On the show, come and meet the Departmental Handisport Committee of Haute-Savoie to discover, exchange and benefit from advice on the practice of handisport.
Xavier Davergne, a specialized instructor and Handi-Glisse expert, will also be present to offer you accompanied outings in FTT (all-terrain wheelchair), CIMGO (tandem wheelchair piloted by an instructor) or Electric FTT.
In the 2025 edition, a Handi event will take the participants to the summits of Haute-Savoie. More information to come!
ASSOCIATION FIFTY FIFTY
The Vélo Vert Festival is committed to helping women and children who are victims of violence to rebuild their lives through sport with Fifty Fifty.
« A bike ride is an escape from sadness ».
James E. Starrs
It is perhaps by dwelling on this quote that in 2017, Nathalie Grubac and Christian Douchement decided to create Fifty Fifty: an association that allows women and children victims of violence, to rebuild themselves through the regular and supervised practice of sports.
And in particular cycling.
Indeed, in addition to being a great tool for transportation, cycling is also and above all a great means of escape, accessible and gentle, allowing the women who benefit from the programs to quickly rediscover sensations, live experiences, get back in motion, and gain confidence and autonomy, in order to initiate a post-traumatic reconstruction process.
To guarantee the success of these reconstruction projects, Fifty Fifty works with doctors, psychologists and reconstruction specialists, as well as sports professionals and champions.
ECO-RESPONSABILITY
SHORT & LOCAL CIRCUIT
The exhibitors’ meals and refreshments will feature local and regional products. This way, the event contributes to the development of short supply chains.
ECO-FUELING
No more glasses or cups at the refreshment stations. To stay hydrated, you will have to bring your own container (water bottle or reusable cup) to take advantage of the many refreshment points set up on the event’s courses.
RECYCLING
With the technical support of the Communauté de Communes des Montagnes du Giffre and the SIVOM, think of the selective sorting of your waste thanks to the implementation of numerous collection points and dustbins placed on the Show.
The limitation of plastic production is one of the main objectives of the Vélo Vert Festival. In order to do so, the organization is taking concrete and measurable actions to significantly reduce (-20%) the use of plastic during the event.
TRANSPORTATION & ACCESSIBILITY
By public transport, carpooling or even by bike on the paths of the valley floor, you are bound to find a way to travel that suits you and limits your carbon footprint while keeping traffic flowing during the event.
People with reduced mobility have access to a reserved parking lot near the show, located at the foot of the Grand Massif Express gondola in Samoëns.
We encourage you to support our action !
